We're looking for a Senior Project Planner to join our Programme Management team at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week Monday - Thursday and hybrid working. Onsite working days are Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday typically worked from home subject to business needs. You'll play a key role in supporting the end-to-end planning lifecycle - from proposal to execution - helping deliver some of the UK's most complex and innovative engineering programmes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the end-to-end lifecycle of planning and schedule management in support of programme capture and execution.
- Lead proposal preparation planning including development of planning artefacts for solicitation response.
- Interface with program management, senior management and the contractual customer as the programs planning integrator.
- Manage the validation of cost and schedule integration for effective program performance management.
- Manage the vertical and horizontal integration between all schedules and other program artefacts compliant with LM's command media.
- Manage the modelling and measuring techniques to integrate risks and opportunities with schedule and cost baseline.
- Manage the resolution of schedule conflicts, develop and implement work‑around strategies and tactical alternatives.
- Utilise performance and health metrics to communicate actions to the programme team resulting in improved program performance.
- Maintenance and status updates of the IMS on a weekly & monthly basis.
- Manage the Maintenance of the Performance Measurement Baseline.
- Support to the Project Business Rhythm.
- Manage the generation of Schedule Information for client and management reviews.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Planner, or similar PMO Planning role.
- Experience of Primavera P6, or similar Planning software.
- Experience of managing Resource loaded Schedules.
- Awareness of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Management.
- Confident individual who will ensure that best planning practice is always adhered to, even in occasional pressurised situations.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and processes.
Desirable:
- Experienced in Earned Value Management.
- SAP cost planning & reporting.
- Background in Defence, MoD, or other complex engineering environments.
