Purpose of Post: These posts are located in the Welsh Government Offices Aberystwyth, Llandrindod, and Carmarthen. Rural Payments Wales (RPW) is recruiting 22 Team Support roles to support the operations and administration of around ÂŁ300 million of funding each year.
Roles: We are recruiting two specific roles: Processing Support and Data Capture.
- Processing Support – What You’ll Do:
- Process customer applications and manage claims across RPW schemes.
- Carry out mapping tasks, spatial checks and data validation to support scheme processing.
- Ensure all work aligns with scheme rules, audit requirements and quality standards.
- Work flexibly with colleagues across the division to provide support and cover priority needs.
- Data capture and manipulation through a bespoke mapping system, ensuring mapping and scheme rules are followed.
- Conduct geographic data checks and identify required changes using reference data, aerial and remote‑sensing imagery.
- Quality check own work following standards, identifying and correcting errors.
- Use digital systems and datasets to support accurate and timely decision‑making.

Key Tasks (General):
- Administrative & Organisational Support – provide efficient administrative support, manage documentation, maintain accurate records.
- Mailbox & Communications Management – triage shared mailbox queries, draft routine correspondence.
- Data Handling & System Support – input, update and maintain data in Welsh Government systems, use Microsoft Office.
- Meeting and Event Coordination – organise meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, capture actions.
- Stakeholder & Customer Support – provide front‑line support, liaise with operational colleagues.
- Team Collaboration & Cross‑Government Working – support shared objectives, work in a production, target‑driven environment.
- Compliance & Governance Support – ensure work complies with policies, data protection, audit requirements, bilingual standards.
Processing Support – Specific Tasks:
- Validate and process RPW scheme applications and claims accurately.
- Check applications against mapping data, identify updates using imagery.
- Update and verify mapping information, ensure payment systems reflect accurate data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, ensuring desk instructions remain fit for purpose.
Data Capture – Specific Tasks:
- Carry out geographic data checks of information held in bespoke mapping system.
- Data capture and manipulation ensuring mapping rules are followed.
- Quality checking own work, identifying and correcting errors.

Interview and Appointment Process:
Assessment includes experience questions and technical questions. Candidates will be shortlisted based on experience, then moved to interview, and placed into merit order for the chosen location.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Basic Vetting level.
- Welsh language skills not essential but desirable.
- Standard UK Civil Service eligibility required.
