Purpose of Post
Cafcass Cymru safeguards and promotes the welfare of children involved in family court proceedings. The Business Support team provides operational support to Practice Managers, Family Court Advisors/Family Court Social Workers and Business Support Managers across Wales.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support, including screening court applications and orders, formatting confidential documentation and drafting high‑standard communications.
- Arrange meetings, monitor incoming communications, file documents and perform other administrative duties within tight timescales.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders such as courts, police & social services departments, solicitors, social work practitioners and service users.
- Handle sensitive telephone discussions with service users as required.
- Manage own data‑entry tasks, correct erroneous inputs identified by the PowerBI system and support colleagues with data validity in the Cafcass Cymru case‑management system (IRIS).
- Maintain internal records, including case‑related information, ensuring iShare records are complete and compliant with Data Protection and Freedom of Information requirements.
- Ensure confidential information is handled efficiently and appropriately in line with guidance and policy documents.
- Support day‑to‑day office operations by handling, recording and distributing mail and maintaining stationery and office supplies.
- Execute additional duties within the team to comply with corporate obligations, such as First Aider or Fire Warden roles.
Work Pattern and Salary
Full time. Salary: £27,302 to £29,291 (TS pay scale, minimum band). Salary is non‑negotiable.
