Are you a media trailblazer with a passion for sport, storytelling and a desire to inspire the next generation of creators? LLS is launching a flagship Sports Media course in Liverpool, and we are looking for an incredibly talented individual to lead it. This isn’t a traditional teaching job. You will be the face of the LLS Sports Media programme, acting as the bridge between the classroom and the professional industry. You will deliver the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice, transforming passionate 16–18-year-olds into industry-ready professionals.

Why this role is different

  • The 0.6 Advantage: Designed for the modern creative. The three-day, term-time schedule is perfect for specialists who want to maintain freelance projects or media consultancy alongside their teaching.
  • Global Content Capture: You won’t just teach media; you’ll live it. You will lead international trips to bring learning to life, including content capture at the MIC Cup in Costa Brava and industry immersions in Alicante.
  • Industry Powerhouse: You will be the conduit between our students and elite placement providers like The Redmen TV and professional clubs such as Bradford Bulls.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver Excellence: Lead high-quality sessions across written media, audio/podcasting, photography, videography, social media and AI.
  • Industry Placement Guru: Go above and beyond to secure world-class work experience, industry mentor access, and entry into professional media environments for your students.
  • Programme Ambassador: Act as the primary representative for the course, leading recruitment events and building a "Scouse-centric" but globally-facing media course.
  • Student Success: Drive academic progress and pastoral wellbeing, ensuring students achieve their full potential.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience: Prior teaching or lecturing experience is a must.
  • Technical Mastery: Proven competency in written journalism, audio production, professional photography, and high-end videography.
  • Industry Connection: A varied background in the media sector with an established professional network.

  • Eligibility: Enhanced DBS check and commitment to safeguarding.

  • Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS).
  • Sector Knowledge: Experience delivering BTEC Level 3 qualifications.
