The department Skadden has one of the leading M&A practices in London, reflecting the firm’s recognition as one of the top global M&A advisers. We are ranked Tier 1 for UK M&A by IFLR1000 and are recognised for having particular expertise in UK public takeovers. The UK M&A team advises on complex, cross-border transactions (both inbound and outbound) and covers all aspects of public & private M&A. We have a broad range of clients including UK listed companies, multinational organisations and financial sponsors who operate across a range of sectors including tech, consumer, finance, fintech, pharma, natural resources, crypto, media and industrials. The work we do is high-profile and involves structuring and executing the most complicated M&A deals in the market.

Clients we have advised on recent matters include International Paper (on the largest UK public takeover in the previous 3 years), News Corp, Spirit AeroSystems, Electronic Arts, Apax Global Alpha and Netflix. Person Specification

The successful candidate will join the UK M&A practice in London. We are looking for an individual with 2-4 years' relevant UK post qualification experience ideally in the London market.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in complex M&A transactions and cross-border deal management
  • Proven ability to work on complex, high-profile, cross-border transactions, advising clients on all aspects of public and private M&A
  • Demonstrated experience executing transactions from inception to completion
  • Experience in corporate M&A at a top tier law firm
  • Confident, commercially-minded, and capable of managing sophisticated clients and transactions
  • Track record of delivering exceptional client service and building strong client relationships
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers and / or trainees
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent academic credentials and technical skills
  • Professionalism and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
