Responsibilities
- This role sits at the heart of the bank’s cloud modernisation, working within a large‑scale Google Cloud Platform environment that underpins digital journeys, data capabilities and emerging Generative AI workloads
- As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help shape the cloud foundations that enable the organisation to operate securely, scale efficiently and innovate responsibly
- Your work will directly influence how cloud infrastructure evolves across the bank, with the opportunity to contribute to platform direction, engineering standards and the broader adoption of modern cloud practices
- You’ll design, build and optimise GCP infrastructure using a wide range of cloud services, alongside delivering Infrastructure‑as‑Code through Terraform and modular design patterns
- The role involves developing automation using tools such as Python, Bash or Groovy, and working with structured data formats including JSON and YAML
- You’ll also play a key role in evolving the CI/CD ecosystem across technologies such as Jenkins, Harness and GitHub, while working with Kubernetes (GKE) and modern deployment approaches to support scalable, resilient platforms
- Collaboration is central to the role
- You’ll work closely with Infrastructure, Systems, Architecture and Software Engineering teams to deliver secure, automated and high‑quality cloud solutions within strong control, compliance and security frameworks
- You’ll contribute to engineering quality through code reviews, design input and full lifecycle ownership, while also helping to guide and support more junior team members
- In addition, you’ll be part of a wider operational model, including participation in an on‑call support rota and occasional out‑of‑hours work, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical cloud services that support the bank’s core operations
Qualifications
- Trong hands‑on experience with GCP services across a broad range
- Advanced experience with Terraform and IaC
- Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, Bash, Groovy)
- Ability to work across engineering domains with excellent communication and collaboration
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness and GitHub
- Experience managing environments using GKE or similar Kubernetes deployments
- Google Cloud Professional certifications
- Experience writing security guardrails (Sentinel or similar)
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace or Cloud Monitoring
- Strong creativity, adaptability and a continuous‑learning mindset
