Lloyd\'s are recruiting for Manager, Financial Risk (Liabilities) on an FTC basis until the end of 2025. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the financial risks faced by Lloyd\'s, with a focus on those impacting the capital or assets of both the Corporation and the wider
Lloyd\'s market.
Principal Accountabilities
Contribute to the identification and assessment of the financial risks faced by Lloyd\'s, in
particular underwriting, reserving, catastrophe exposure (natural and non-natural) and outwards
reinsurance risks
Provide robust risk oversight and challenge to the functions responsible for managing those
financial risks, making recommendations for improvements in the control environment where
necessary
Provide assurance over the Lloyd\'s Principles Based Oversight framework which is a key control
in managing syndicate capability risks
Provide risk input into key Lloyd\'s strategic initiatives, including providing formal risk opinions as
required to outline potential impacts on the risk profile and control environment
Assess forward looking risk landscape and conduct thematic reviews and implement any
recommendations or findings in conjunction with relevant Corporation teams
Supporting the production of regulatory submissions and requests, the ORSA and regular risk
monitoring and reporting to management, including reporting to the Risk Committee, escalating
heightened risks as required
Build and maintain excellent relationships with all relevant Corporation departments, including
Market Reserving & Capital, Exposure Management, Underwriting, Outwards Reinsurance and
Market Oversight teams.
Respond with agility to requests (i.e. adhoc projects) from the Chief Risk Officer or Head of Risk
Management.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of The nature of insurance liabilities
Risk Management and Financial Risk Management
An understanding of the insurance industry and the Lloyd\'s market.
Breadth of experience of risk management frameworks and methodology with knowledge of
Solvency II
Evidence of influencing outcomes with senior management in both formal (e.g.
committee) and informal settings.
Experience of one or more of the risks in the scope of the role (underwriting, reserving,
catastrophe, reinsurance)
Experience in managing senior stakeholders including challenging or unsupportive stakeholders
Qualified actuary or CFA Charterholder
