Summary
Lloyds Banking Group is the UK's biggest Retail, Digital and Mobile bank with over 30 million customers, so we have a big responsibility to help Britain prosper. The world is changing at pace and our daring new £3bn strategy is responding with the foundations of having built a market‑leading digital bank. And it's the role of our Chief Information Office (CIO) to provide the backbone infrastructure upon which this bank operates.
About the challenge
We're looking to build a new dynamic, scalable, software‑defined and automated solution that will enable managed networks and boundary controls within the LBG data centres. We’re embarking on a bold redesign of the current network incorporating features that allow it to be better automated, easier to manage, secure and centred around applications and application flows. With your help we can make it possible. Our Data Centre network team is a part of the LBG networks journey to a more flexible and automated network. In order to deliver securely and at pace we’re redefining the delivery and operational capabilities of the team, based on DevOps principles and technologies. This technical role will be pivotal in growing, integrating and optimising our toolsets for the future.
What we’re looking for
- Technical experience with Cisco Data Centre Network architecture and design
- Hands‑on experience deploying and operating Advanced Cisco Infrastructure (Cisco ACI)
- A modern engineering background using the latest tools and techniques
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD
- Scripting languages such as Shell, Python or Ansible
- Troubleshooting, Terraform and cloud‑native provisioning templates
- Understanding of modern networking components
- JIRA/Confluence, ServiceNow – Incident, Change and Problem Management
- Knowledge of integrating Checkpoint Firewalls and F5 Service (GTM, LTM, WAF) onto Cisco ACI
About working for LBG
We work in a fast‑paced, collaborative and dynamic environment. We also have fun along the way! We’re hybrid working – so you’ll need to live within a commute of a hub location to come in one or two days a week, and there may be out‑of‑hours work which is well compensated. With a supportive and nurturing leadership team, we provide ongoing opportunities to develop and achieve a rewarding career.
What we offer
- A competitive salary
- Group performance‑related annual bonus
- Generous pension contribution of up to 15%
- 27 days holiday plus bank holidays on top
- Private health cover
- Various share schemes, including free shares

At Lloyds Banking Group we’re driven by a clear purpose: to help Britain prosper. Our colleagues focus on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us, you’ll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, while the scale and reach of our Group means you’ll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
We keep your data safe. We will only ask for confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited to an interview or accepted a verbal offer, at which point we run background checks. We always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.
