We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our International Finance team in Chatham. You'll play an important role in supporting the financial accounting and reporting of our international entities, helping to deliver accurate financial information that supports decision-making across the organisation.
What you'll do
- Support the preparation and processing of financial accounting activities within the general ledger.
- Assist with monthly close and consolidation activities across our international offices and entities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and help maintain a strong financial control environment.
- Support the preparation of half-year and annual financial reporting.
- Work with colleagues across Financial Reporting, FP&A, Regulatory Reporting, Investment Reporting and Financial Operations.
- Build relationships with international stakeholders and help ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time.
- Support internal and external audit activity and help implement agreed recommendations.
- Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help maintain clear and effective finance procedures and documentation.
What you'll bring
- Experience supporting accounting, financial reporting or management accounting activities.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience using an accounting or finance system such as Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar.
- An understanding of accounting principles, UK GAAP or IFRS, or a desire to develop knowledge in these areas.
- We're particularly interested in candidates who are studying towards, hold, or are considering a professional accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
