To provide technical leadership within the areas of expertise and to determine solutions for problems, within their discipline, where the parameters are not well defined and where previous experience does not provide any precedent. To contribute specialist knowledge within their discipline and/or lead in projects which provide commercially focused support and/or service delivery to internal and/or external clients. To perform complex assessments, provide specialist advice/solution and training to internal/external clients, research or development work within agreed parameters including budget and contractual requirements. To produce the deliverable within the agreed broad parameters in an appropriate format and take responsibility to review other employees’ work as appropriate. To pursue continuing professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. To assess, recommend and endorse the scope, cost, time, resources and value of the work to be undertaken for an internal/external client meeting contractual and project requirements. To establish, develop and maintain long‑term client relationships, using feedback to continually develop our services, processes/procedures and deliverables. To discuss/present the deliverable with the internal/external client up to senior level and be able to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate. Undertake administration as required in line with current processes and procedures. To implement improvements in service delivery and to help build the business based on internal/external client feedback. To technically develop other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information for effective knowledge transfer and application. To ensure that activities are conducted in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards. To provide specialist support/advice and resolve technical queries within a discipline to internal/external clients. May manage work within a discipline and ensure it is in accordance with management system requirements, cost structures and budgetary/contractual requirements.
A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of four years programme). A higher tertiary degree (e.g., Master's) may be acceptable in some regions. Likely to be Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent. Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience as a technical leader to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application. In depth working experience in Hazard and Technical Risk Services for the Maritime and Energies space. Demonstrable experience in Hazard and Technical Risk Services service delivery. Customer focused, responsive and highly motivated to support clients, by meeting their deadlines and regularly updating them on progress. Effective team‑working and interpersonal skills. Good communication and rapport‑building skills. Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work, with the ability to produce comprehensive and detailed written reports. Project management experience. (desirable) Functional safety qualification. Knowledge of PHA=Pro and BowTieXP software. Knowledge of QRA software (e.g. PHAST/SAFETI).
