We are seeking a senior business development professional to drive sales, market presence, and commercial growth across the UK and North Europe energy sector. The role is based in Aberdeen, London or North Europe and involves originating and progressing opportunities across assurance, consulting and digital solutions for offshore and energy assets. The role is not limited to a single service line; success comes from understanding client needs holistically and connecting them to LR capabilities, whether assurance, advisory or digital.

A senior business development professional with experience in the energy industry who can attain new business, grow the sales pipeline, and pro-actively negotiate with the customer to close orders. Primary focus will be to build relationships with stakeholders delivering offshore capital expenditure projects while delivering the assigned sales targets.
What you will do
- Identify and qualify offshore energy projects, operators and clients within the sales territory that represent the greatest opportunity.
- Engage and discover: Proactively and continuously engage key personnel to develop and maintain relationships within offshore energy client groups such as energy project developers, EPCIs and OEMs in line with sales strategy and stakeholder mapping, undertaking discovery and gaining intelligence to inform future proposals.
- Propose and iterate: Develop and present clear, concise and compelling proposals either independently or with a team of SMEs and bid managers which reflect the clients’ needs based on gathered intelligence.
- Bid and win: Work with a team of bid managers and SMEs to provide timely, technically and financially sound bid submissions in response to RFQ/RFPs; proactively engage the client to close the sale after submission.
- Own your numbers: Be accountable for sales performance and forecasting through the accuracy and quality of the opportunity and account data input into Salesforce as the single source of truth to ensure confidence in performance reporting and sales forecasts.
- Learn and share: Develop a thorough understanding of LR’s solution portfolio to upsell and cross-sell to customers while actively participating in external marketing events, conferences, and workshops to develop sales networks and promote LR.
What you bring
- Proven professional services sales experience hunting new business, generating and following up on leads within the offshore energy sector.
- Experience supplying services into the offshore energy sectors (O&G/Renewables) globally including operators, EPCIs and OEMs.
- Well-established contact network within the offshore energy sectors including operators, EPCIs and OEMs.
- Flexible for worldwide travel as required for new client meetings and follow-ups.
- Ability to communicate value propositions via a variety of mediums in a clear, concise and compelling manner at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully at all levels.
- Strong ability to forecast and develop sales plans and communicate effectively across the organisation with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong negotiating skills and practiced in negotiation techniques to influence and persuade as necessary.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and internal departments.
- Thorough understanding of offshore energy market developments to create commercial focus and identify new business opportunities.
- Ability to use Salesforce or other software to manage and report sales activities confidently.
