An exciting opportunity exists to join a flexible, dynamic, and motivated team within Lloyd's Register's Ship Emergency Response Service (SERS). The pioneering service provides round the clock access to technical advice for the maritime community in the event of a shipboard emergency such as flooding, grounding, explosion or a loss in stability.

The role:
- Ideal opportunity for a recent graduate.
- Fixed term contract for two years.
- Train to participate in drills and emergencies as a member of the SERS on-call team.
- Prepare and maintain computer models of marine assets.
- Develop and maintain emergency response tools and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training internally and externally.
- Undertake consultancy projects.
- Peer review colleagues' work.
- Pursue continual professional development, to keep up to date with current vessel operations and technology trends.
What you bring:
- A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer.
- Fresh graduate or maximum 2 years of experience.
- The ability to pay attention to details.
- The ability to work towards set timelines.
- The ability to work with speed and accuracy even when under time pressure.
- Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Demonstrated skills in coordinating projects.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards chartered status.
