Job Description

Full time, permanent role, hybrid, Monday to Friday (37.5hrs per week, 9-5 with 30 min lunch break)

Role Purpose

Expert Heath Ltd has over 15 years of experience in leading the way in Digital Medicine. Our mission is to achieve excellence in delivering personalised and accessible healthcare on a large scale. Our algorithms are the basis of our patient-facing digital consultations and clinician-facing decision-making tool.

You’ll work closely with a team comprised of clinicians, algorithm builders, developers and Quality Analysts. You’ll play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimising the advanced healthcare algorithms that power our core services. We work within an Agile team environment and collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to deliver high-quality solutions iteratively and efficiently.

This role uniquely blends clinical expertise with algorithm development proficiency. As a Clinical Algorithm Specialist, you will leverage your background in digital healthcare to design and build algorithms tailored to improve patient care, streamline processes, and enhance clinical decision-making. Your responsibilities will include analysing medical data, collaborating with prescribing clinicians to understand their needs, and developing algorithms that address specific clinical challenges. You’ll be instrumental in writing clear and informative clinical content for patients, ensuring accessibility and understanding. This position is ideal for clinicians with a passion for technology and a desire to innovate within the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development: develop, implement, and optimise cutting-edge health-tech algorithms, ensuring that algorithms meet all clinical and compliance requirements. With experience in using bespoke healthcare software tools such as Asset Builder and Visio.

Collaboration: work closely with Doctors and other clinicians to deliver high quality, clinical robust algorithms. Work with the Product team and software developers to integrate algorithms into production systems.

Data analysis – work with the Data team and Associate Director: Clinical Operations to review algorithm outcomes and improve automation rates.

Testing & Evaluation – Test algorithms for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Analyse algorithm performance and make necessary adjustments.

Documentation – Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for algorithms in line with guidelines, ensuring that the team can understand and leverage the algorithms effectively.

Mentorship – Provide guidance to junior algorithm developers, helping them enhance their skills and understand complex algorithms.

External stakeholder management – engage with suppliers to optimise ways of working and improve efficiency. Engage with partner pharmacies and other customers to ensure that algorithms are meeting requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experienced pharmacist
  • Strong communicator with excellent language skills
  • Personable and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and willingness to adapt

Experience in:

  • Working in the digital health industry
  • Advanced external stakeholder management
  • Project management, with proficiency in accurately sizing and allocating resources
  • Reporting on KPIs
  • Clinical governance and experience in medical device regulation
