As the Commercial Operations Analyst you will play a pivotal role in driving best‑in‑class sales execution, partnering closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, Revenue Operations, and Go‑To‑Market teams. The Commercial Operations Analyst will deliver accurate, scalable compensation frameworks and actionable commercial insights, ensuring alignment with business strategy and supporting sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities- Sales compensation – end to end process
- Own the development and design of annual and in‑year sales compensation schemes.
- Model compensation scenarios to assess financial impact, incentive alignment, and behavioural outcomes.
- Partner with Sales Leadership and Finance to stress‑test model assumptions and validate alignment with commercial targets.
- Manage day‑to‑day sales compensation operations, including plan setup, data ingestion, workflow management, and payout administration.
- Oversee all configuration, maintenance, and governance of the compensation tool (e.g., Spiff), ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
- Maintain clear documentation of compensation logic, crediting rules, exceptions, and process standards.
- Lead monthly and quarterly payout cycles, ensuring data accuracy, auditability, and alignment with policy.
- Conduct plan refreshes and ensure timely updates to quotas, attainment calculations, and structural changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for compensation queries and issue resolution.
- Commercial reporting
- Build, automate, and maintain reporting across pipeline health, coverage, conversion rates, performance to target, and forecast attainment.
- Deliver weekly and monthly reporting packs for Sales Leadership, GTM, and Finance.
- Own all commercial analytics across GTM motions, including segmentation, productivity trends, retention/renewals, and regional performance insights.
- Analyse performance and deal trends to provide actionable insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with RevOps & Data teams to ensure data accuracy across CRM, BI tools, compensation systems, and GTM datasets.
- Drive standardisation in definitions, metrics, and reporting methodologies.
- Support Sales leadership with ad hoc analyses, scenario modelling, and strategic planning inputs (e.g., territory design, quota planning, pricing/discount governance, win‑loss analysis).
- 5+ years experience working within Commercial or Finance
- Understanding of SAAS metrics and KPI’s
- Data-driven & commercially minded
- Comfortable working with large data sets and ambiguity
- Advanced Excel / Power BI / Salesforce/ Financial modelling capability
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; thrives in a fast‑paced environment
