We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and manage the company’s dual temperature light commercial vehicles, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and compliant with current regulations. This is a hybrid role with some travel - ideally you will be based in the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee fleet operations, ensuring vehicles meet safety, efficiency, and regulatory standards.
- Optimise fleet performance at the optimal cost.
- Own and manage fleet policies.
- Provide leadership, support, and expertise to senior management across transport, warehousing, nursing, and centralised functions (H&S, HR, Finance, Quality Assurance).
- Ensure compliance with vehicle safety regulations, emissions standards, taxation requirements, permits, and driver certifications.
- Manage day-to-day fleet operations to ensure efficiency.
- Control and manage fleet costs, including fuel, repairs, insurance, and leasing.
- Analyse fleet data and provide insights using telematics, spend data, and market intelligence.
- Manage supply chain and vehicle life cycles.
About You:
We are seeking a candidate with an IMI qualification or extensive industry experience, strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, fleet management software, and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with fleet regulations (health and safety, emissions, taxation, and driver licensing) is essential, as well as experience in accident and insurance management. Cold chain/temperature controlled logistics experience would be a bonus!
You should be proficient in budgeting, cost analysis, and managing fuel, insurance, maintenance, and depreciation. Strong skills in data analysis, communication, and problem-solving are required, alongside leadership experience managing a remote team. A commitment to excellent customer service, knowledge of eco-driving and alternative fuels, and the ability to adopt new technologies are also important.
