This role is a key operational role responsible for supporting the performance, stability, and cost-effectiveness of Lloyd’s infrastructure and network services. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Lloyd’s infrastructure and network estate, the role provides governance and coordination across outsourced service providers and strategic vendors, ensuring service excellence, lifecycle alignment, and strategic enablement. With a global cloud-first footprint, the role supports business-critical operations, innovation delivery, and infrastructure planning in close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Service Performance & Operational Oversight
    • Act as the SME for the Lloyd’s infrastructure and network estate, maintaining deep knowledge of Infrastructure and network platforms, service scope, and operational dependencies.
    • Support the delivery and performance of infrastructure and network services provided by multiple global vendors.
    • Monitor service levels, availability, and incident resolution across cloud-hosted environments.
    • Maintain visibility into the health and performance of the global network footprint, including cloud regions and connectivity hubs.
    • Provide cross-domain operational support for key business calendar events (e.g., financial close, market launches) and critical infrastructure upgrades, ensuring readiness and minimizing disruption.
    • Ensure infrastructure operations actively support the delivery of strategic initiatives and innovation programs, enabling agility, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Infrastructure Lifecycle Coordination
    • Owns, and ensures adherence to Lloyd’s Infrastructure policies, standards and controls.
    • Oversee and coordinate and be the IT Ops contact for all infrastructure lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, and decommissions with service providers.
    • Track asset health, tech debt, capacity, and lifecycle milestones to ensure proactive management.
    • Work with Vendor Management Lead to ensure timely renewals/ consolidations of vendors where practical and commercially relevant.
    • Support change management processes and ensure operational readiness for infrastructure and network changes.
    • Work closely with domain leads to ensure infrastructure planning aligns with business and domain roadmaps.
    • Provide input into strategic planning cycles by identifying infrastructure dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Contribute to documentation and reporting on infrastructure lifecycle status, timelines, and cross-functional impacts.
  • Cloud FinOps Support
    • Support Azure cloud cost monitoring and reporting, working with finance and engineering teams.
    • Identify usage trends and assist in implementing cost-saving measures such as rightsizing and reserved instances.
    • Help maintain governance controls around cloud spend and budget tracking.
    • Contribute to FinOps reporting and insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Patching & Vulnerability Oversight
    • Coordinate patching schedules and vulnerability remediation activities across production environments working closely with Security Leads to ensure adherence to policies and controls.
    • Ensure service providers adhere to compliance timelines and reporting requirements.
    • Track remediation progress and escalate delays or risks to senior stakeholders.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in IT infrastructure and or network operations, ideally in a multi-vendor, cloud-first environment.
  • Proven experience supporting outsourced service delivery and cloud platforms (especially Azure).
  • Understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management, service performance monitoring, and FinOps principles.
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Azure Fundamentals, or FinOps Practitioner are a plus.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Working as part of a collaborative, self-organising agile team.
  • Customer-centric approach to delivering and managing data applications.
  • Supplier/Vendor management.
  • Service management.
