Lloyd's is recruiting a Senior Actuary, Capital Oversight on a 6 Months (Contract) ideally we are looking for a candidate to start March. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced non-life actuary to influence market-wide capital standards, lead major review activity, and contribute to the strategic direction of the Capital Oversight team.
Key Responsibilities- Syndicate Capital Reviews
- Independently review syndicate-level capital requirements across key risk areas (premium, reserve, market, credit, operational).
- Assess diversification assumptions, dependencies, movement metrics and validation outcomes.
- Review syndicates against the Capital Principle of the Principles of Doing Business at Lloyd's.
- Lead annual capital reviews, major model change assessments, deep dives, governance reviews and IMAP applications.
- Conduct reviews for new market entrants, including those using the Lloyd's Standard Model.
- Act as a key point of contact for managing agents and their actuarial teams.
- Present findings and recommendations to the Actuarial Oversight Review Group (AORG).
- Liaise with internal teams (Syndicate Performance, Exposure Management, Outwards Reinsurance) to ensure coordinated oversight.
- Contribute to market and regulatory communications and briefings.
- Significant experience in non-life insurance and capital modelling.
- Qualified actuary with capital experience.
- Knowledge of actuarial techniques and regulatory frameworks (including Solvency II).
- Proven ability to deliver complex technical work and communicate it clearly to senior audiences.
- Experience supervising work and developing analytical approaches to solve complex questions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Excel, SharePoint and related analytical tools.
