As Lloyds Banking Group enters the Digital Asset market, this Senior Manager role sits at the point where innovation meets protection. You'll lead how Economic Crime Prevention is designed, embedded and scaled to support safe growth in one of the most complex areas of financial services. Digital Assets are transforming the future of financial services, and there's never been a more exciting time to be part of that journey.

As the Group moves confidently into the Digital Asset market in 2026, we're shaping innovative propositions that span both Commercial and Retail customers, with new products and technology builds already in development. We're investing in innovative capabilities—from blockchain adoption to tokenised transactions—to ensure LBG becomes the UK's trusted conduit for digital assets, offering the chance to help shape foundational controls and keep the Group resilient in a fast-evolving market.

Because these products operate in a high-risk space from an economic crime prevention perspective, we're looking for dedicated ECP expertise to guide and influence the development of the control environment, including oversight of key technology builds that will be required for scale-up and operating model considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a small, dedicated team you'll set strategic direction for Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) oversight of Digital Assets, aligning to Group risk appetite, policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead and coach a specialist team, setting priorities, delivery plans and clear accountability across product, change and BAU activity.
  • Own delivery of the ECP control framework for Digital Assets (e.g., digital wallets, tokenised deposits, stablecoins), from design through implementation and embedment.
  • Partner with product, engineering, operations and the Digital Assets Lab to translate economic crime risks into practical requirements (processes, technology, operating model).
  • Define and oversee financial crime risk assessments across the customer/product lifecycle (AML, sanctions, fraud), including inherent risk, control design and residual risk.
  • Drive requirements and adoption of monitoring and detection capabilities for blockchain activity, wallet flows and tokenised transactions, including alerting, case management and MI.
  • Lead engagement with 2LOD ECP, Compliance and other assurance functions to secure challenge, sign-off and evidence of control effectiveness.
  • Ensure policy, standards and methodologies are updated for Digital Assets (e.g., BECRA/CRA), and that changes are implemented consistently across impacted areas.
  • Oversee regulatory submissions and responses (where required), ensuring accurate documentation, traceability of decisions and robust control evidence.
  • Represent the business at relevant governance forums/committees, calling out issues, risks and dependencies and recommending clear actions.
  • Manage key partner relationships and act as ECP business partner for senior leaders, providing advice on control outcomes, delivery status and residual risks.
  • Build ECP capability across Digital Finance through training, playbooks and knowledge sharing, ensuring colleagues understand new risks and control requirements.

Qualifications

  • Senior Economic Crime Prevention leader with 5-10+ years' experience operating in complex, high-risk financial services environments.
  • Deep expertise in Economic Crime Prevention, with experience operating in advisory, product or framework-led roles at scale.
  • Proven senior partnering and influencing across product, engineering, operations and risk, with the ability to drive outcomes in a dynamic and evolving context.
  • Experience designing, implementing and evidencing controls and leading end-to-end economic crime risk assessments across fraud and financial crime.
  • Strong understanding of risks and controls across the customer and product lifecycle, particularly AML and sanctions, including regulatory expectations.
  • The ability to work in agile, change environments, translating policy into practical requirements at pace and shaping conceptual risk into effective controls.
  • A proven people leader, with experience developing teams, setting direction and navigating them through growth or change.
  • A strong sense of ownership and judgement, with an appetite to protect the Group, its customers and communities.
  • Experience or knowledge in the evolving Digital Assets space would be advantageous, including blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and tokenisation.
  • An understanding of Commercial and particularly Markets products.
  • Experience and understanding in payments, settlement and PSO frameworks.
