In this role you’d focus on creating brilliant employee communications that deepen understanding, build pride, and help us to embed the culture we need for our businesses to be future ready and thrive. You’ll help our people see not just what we’re doing, but why it matters. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone to join our Commercial Business Partnering team, supporting our Business & Commercial Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking businesses.
You’ll be coming in at a genuinely unique moment in terms of leadership communications. We have two new CEOs bringing fresh leadership and ambition, and we’re preparing to activate two new growth strategies that sit right at the heart of the Group’s purpose to help Britain prosper. This role is perfect for someone who wants to drive meaningful change and help colleagues connect their day‑to‑day work directly to our purpose and strategy.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as a trusted adviser, providing clear communication counsel to senior partners across BCB and CIB.
- Develop and deliver compelling communications that help colleagues understand our strategy, purpose, and priorities – and feel connected to our leaders.
- Partner closely with People & Places and other teams across Commercial Banking to improve engagement, clarity, and connection.
- Support our thriving internal channels, including helping embed our new Viva Engage communities.
- Produce brilliant colleague events – both face‑to‑face and virtual – that bring our leaders, strategy and culture to life.
- Deliver integrated campaigns that support commercial priorities and help the business move “faster forward”.
- Stay on top of the latest thinking in communications and bring new ideas, approaches and creativity to the team.
There’ll be an opportunity to broaden your experience by working with other teams in Corporate Affairs, looking at how we help journalists and politicians understand how we help Britain prosper and how we use social media to enhance our Group reputation.
What we're looking for…
- Ability to sniff out a great story that shows how we’re growing with purpose, our strategy in action or how we are becoming a simpler place to work – to replay or elevate using the right channels, so more people hear it.
- Someone who’s collaborative and comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels.
- Experience delivering leadership communications through a range of channels, in particular Viva Engage, SharePoint and virtual broadcasts.
- Great attention to detail and highly organised.
- A great communicator with strong writing skills.
- Proficient in measurement and evaluation of communications activity, with the ability to build on the insight gathered.
- Experienced in using MS365 suite, Viva Engage, Teams Live and SharePoint.
- Curious and with a growth mindset – we're always looking to develop and improve.
- Awareness and interest of the broader media and external landscape and how it affects the business and people you support.
