About this Opportunity
This role commercialises Lloyds Banking Group payments technology beyond the UK through bespoke, senior‑level partnerships with European banks and other selected financial institutions. The focus is on originating and leading targeted business development conversations that demonstrate how Lloyds’ payment platforms and software capabilities (including Curve) can solve real strategic or operational problems.
What You’ll Do
- Targeted European Business Development: identify, prioritise and pursue bespoke partnership opportunities with European banks, other regulated financial institutions, selected PSPs or market infrastructure participants, and other parties interested in LBG’s technology.
- Lead end‑to‑end business development from initial senior engagement through to deal structuring, collaborating with internal product, technology, legal, risk and commercial teams.
- Commercialise LBG‑owned payments technology (e.g., Curve Payments Engine, Curve Wallet, payment processing and orchestration platforms) by translating complex platform capabilities into clear value propositions that emphasise outcomes such as speed to market and engagement enhancements for partner banks and their customers.
- Shape bespoke propositions on a deal‑by‑deal basis, taking into account each counterparty’s legacy constraints, commercial structure options (licensing, SaaS, managed service, hybrid models) and regulatory operating‑model considerations.
- Lead strategic conversations with C‑suite and senior decision‑makers, demonstrating deep industry knowledge, honesty about where LBG technology fits or does not fit, and helping counterparties frame investment and transformation decisions.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience selling or commercialising complex banking or payments platforms.
- Credibility in senior, trust‑based conversations with European banks or other financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of payments technology, operating models and regulatory context.
- Experience in payments, transaction banking or platform businesses, or in a bank, fintech, PSP or payments infrastructure provider; a role that combines commercial ownership with technical and operational fluency.
Benefits
- Generous pension contribution of up to 15%
- Annual performance‑related bonus
- Share schemes including free shares
- Adaptable benefits such as discounted shopping
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
- Wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
