About This Opportunity
Our Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB) is on a growth strategy. We're deepening our relationships with clients, developing new propositions and, in doing so, helping Britain prosper by supporting some of the largest businesses across the UK. Market Data is a broad term used in reference to financial information necessary for analysing, trading and accounting. We source this from external providers. Our Market Data Teams in CIB COO Supplier Management plays a critical role in supporting the bank's objectives. We're responsible for the strategic management, provision and administration of Market Data. The team looks to optimise relationships with the likes of London Stock Exchange Group and Bloomberg, identify new opportunities, capabilities and data to support our priorities and manages a large annual budget. The team is the centre of excellence for managing Market Data across Lloyds Banking Group, covering:
- Administrative activity, including licensing controls and payment of market data provider invoices.
- Supporting business areas across the Group by providing advice that meets their market data needs and delivers value.
This is an opportunity for you to lead our team of specialists. You'll complete a diverse set of business objectives requiring people leadership, problem solving and analytical capabilities.
What will you be doing?
- Engage with senior leaders and support strategic decision‑making as well as collaborating closely with our external market data vendors directly.
- Reporting into the Head of Supplier Management and Business Services, you'll work closely together to shape the outputs of the team and will deputise for them when required.
- Take responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organisation's end-to-end management of market data across a portfolio of initiatives or projects.
- Identify and evaluate complex solutions against a variety of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Lead and develop existing business relationships and engage with business leaders to understand long‑term strategic challenges.
- Implement a sustainable, cost-effective target operating model to support business needs, adapting as the business model evolves.
- Demonstrate ongoing awareness of industry and regulatory developments relevant to market data, applying understanding of the external regulatory environment.
What You'll Need
- Strong market data experience (8+ years) usage including sourcing, licensing, governance, cost optimisation and vendor management.
- Leadership experience (5+ years), including leading teams and complex initiatives, with a track record of developing people, creating inclusive working environments, and delivering outcomes across multiple priorities or projects.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders (5+ years), managing risk associated with third-parties (such as data, cyber or operational resilience), and communicating complex ideas clearly to support informed decision‑making.
- Experience designing or improving operating models for data, supplier or shared services teams, with accountability for service delivery, controls and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing or influencing large budgets, commercial negotiations or cost‑reduction activity, including direct engagement with external data providers or suppliers.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory and industry expectations relating to market data, data governance and third‑party oversight within financial services or a similarly regulated sector.
