About this opportunity

We are a team that plays a meaningful role in cost leadership for Lloyds Banking Group, striving to provide valuable insights, drive cost‑saving initiatives, and ensure the effective use of the Group’s resources, including our colleague reward package. Our team of 12 colleagues is based across Edinburgh, Bristol, and London. We are part of the Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team within Central Finance, giving us a unique opportunity to work across the Group and collaborate with teams across the organization. The work you do and the ideas you develop will inform conversations up to Group Executive Committee (GEC) level. This is a terrific opportunity for someone bold and ambitious.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop a deep understanding of costs through data, analysis, benchmarking, and best‑practice case studies.
  • Use insights, trends, and data to identify cost opportunities and the structural changes needed for Lloyds Banking Group to remain a cost leader in financial services.
  • Proactively build relationships and engage widely with colleagues to develop narratives, evidence, and advocacy to effect cost‑out/optimisation benefits.
  • Review and challenge 4YOP submissions and cases with a strategic cost‑optimisation mindset.
  • Identify and drive cost‑saving or unit‑cost efficiency initiatives, working with stakeholders across the Group.
  • Challenge material contracts en route to the Group Cost Management Committee (GCMC) as the first reviewer.
  • Support the running of GCMC meetings and the production of excellent papers to enable effective decision‑making.
