HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support a Mid Corporate portfolio of clients and prospects within London and the South region.
  • Understand and provide solutions to all customers’ bespoke financial requirements including lending, deposits plus a range of other products and services.
  • Focus on sectors such as Business and Professional Services, Manufacturing, Wholesale and Consumer, Technology, Media and Telecoms.
  • Grow the portfolio through new-to-bank prospect origination and business development.
  • Proven track record in growing client base at a Mid Corporate level (clients with turnovers of between £25m - £500m) in the UK Banking market.
  • Be a key part of our market presence, supporting high profile local clients and developing key business opportunities.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Proactively originate new-to-bank opportunities, focusing on debt transactions.
  • Work closely with Corporate Finance and other internal partners to gain early visibility on transactions.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with key business introducers.
  • Understand client strategies and funding requirements to structure compelling, competitive debt solutions.
  • Drive balance sheet growth through disciplined deployment of capital.
  • Develop and execute sector-led origination strategies to increase revenue and market share.
  • Collaborate across Coverage, Credit, and Product teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Monitor market trends, transaction activity, and competitor positioning.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and structure.
  • Handle and develop high profile client relationships.
  • Uncover emerging issues and/or needs and identify potential causes.
  • Handle the 'Risk' side of your client portfolio.
  • Support the development of others in the team.
  • Play a leadership role within the region.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role within corporate banking.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proven credit experience.
  • Strong financial and numerical skills.
  • Detailed understanding of legal documentation and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of different types of risk in a lending environment.
