But the world is changing, fast. And we're changing too. It's never been a more exciting time to join us as we transform our business to shape finance as a force for good.

Our team is modernising with cloud, a platform that is quick, secure and resilient for customers and easy, modern and green for developers. Our core technology focus is on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

Public Cloud Services Lab delivers centrally managed, secure and scalable cloud services across Azure and GCP. We focus on engineering excellence, automation and AI‑driven efficiency to provide clear, ready‑to‑consume platforms that make it easy for teams to onboard and run critical workloads. Our priority is a great customer and developer experience—simple engagement, strong documentation, and reliable, well‑operated services.

You’ll assist with the design, build, and operate secure, automated cloud platform capabilities that support both API Gateway solutions and a broader set of Integration cloud products. Your work will enable product teams to deliver API‑first services at pace, demonstrating reusable patterns and robust integration tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and operate platform capabilities using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and modern CI/CD; partner with architecture and feature teams to evolve our cloud roadmap and platform products.
  • Embed a secure‑by‑design approach and controls from design to runtime, safeguarding colleagues and customers.
  • Define and operate against SLOs/SLIs; implement actionable observability, performance tuning and automation to reduce toil.
  • Enable API‑first delivery with reusable patterns and golden paths for API producers/consumers; contribute to documentation and enablement.
  • Contribute to communities of practice, upholding Platform Engineering standards expected at Grade D.

Core skills (cloud‑agnostic):

  • Track record delivering large‑scale systems with performance, availability and fault‑tolerance; experience setting SLOs/SLIs.
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code with Terraform (minimum) and one or more modern CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Harness).
  • Containers & orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Scripting in Bash, PowerShell or Python.
  • Basic understanding in GCP, GKE, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, Cloud Monitoring/Stackdriver.

Desirable:

  • Apigee
  • Harness experience in CI/CD
  • Dynatrace
  • Docker/buildah/Podman
  • NodeJS for API tooling
  • Relevant GCP certifications

And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under‑represented groups. We’re disability confident. So, if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance‑related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares.
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping.
  • 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
