Hours: Full time

What you’ll be doing: This role plays a key part in creating the Group’s strategy, offering a chance to influence major business decisions and collaborate with senior leadership. As a Strategy Director, you’ll lead and contribute to complex strategic initiatives across CIB and the wider Group, develop recommendations on high-profile topics, combine deep analysis and original research to advise decision makers at GEC and Board level, and support the execution of these strategies, translating them into real outcomes. You’ll play a key role in shaping the Group’s corporate strategy, assessing the evolving operating environment and competitive landscape to ensure we continue to meet customer needs and deliver long‑term shareholder value. Alongside this, you’ll produce insightful analysis on competitors, challenger banks and wider market trends, identifying themes with strategic implications.

What we’re looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, investment banking or consulting, with exposure to complex financial services environments
  • Proven track record analysing large, complex datasets and translating insights into clear strategic recommendations
  • Strong experience supporting or delivering strategic initiatives such as M&A, disposals or transformation programmes
  • Ability to engage senior partners and contribute to Executive and Board‑level discussions producing high‑quality materials for diverse audiences
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of market dynamics, competitors and investor expectations

Additional desirable experience: Experience of strategy in the context of operations/technology would be beneficial.
