Salary Range: £107,304 - £126,240

We're looking for a new Treasury Tax Senior Manager to join our Group Corporate Treasury and Commercial Banking team. In this role you'll establish a positive relationship with key partners in tax, finance and the business and be recognised as a tax and business leader and SME.

What you'll do:

  • Support LBG's business activities with particular emphasis on providing technical tax advice on loan relationships, swaps, derivative contracts, repos, and commercial lending within a fixed income business context, and on commercial structuring and tax enquiries with a focus on the Group's Treasury and Commercial Banking operations.
  • Interact closely with corporate tax compliance and tax reporting colleagues to ensure tax returns and IFRS reporting accurately reflect all tax consequences.
  • Support the Group in understanding and implementing direct tax legislation requirements and contribute to the development of the Group Tax team through formal training and mentoring.
  • Build a network of contacts across LBG and externally, acting as the contact for Group Corporate Treasury and Commercial Banking and as a tax subject matter expert across a wide range of topics.
  • Work alongside the wider Group Tax team to provide expert technical support and input on corporate tax compliance and reporting matters, covering new legislation, business developments, and unusual transaction situations.
  • Manage the resolution of HMRC disputes through correspondence and direct engagement, ensuring enquiries remain focused, technically sound, and progress in a cooperative, pragmatic, transparent manner.

What you'll need:

  • Tax specialist with an established record within practice or industry.
  • Professional accountancy, tax and/or economics qualifications such as ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT or a relevant MSc.
  • Strong technical skills and communication abilities with tax professionals, business colleagues, and external advisors.
  • Experience or ability to handle tax matters in banking, loan relationships, derivative contracts, repos, and other lending forms, with strong knowledge of IFRS accounting for financing transactions, derivatives and hedging.
  • Good understanding of risk expectations for a tax function operating under multiple regulatory and tax regimes.
  • Background in financial services.
