We’re looking for an Android Team Manager to join our Segments & Propositions Relationship lab in London. You will lead an established team evolving our Digital Internet Banking Channels (native mobile and web) and provide hands‑on leadership and engineering excellence.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Specialise in Android and lead a full‑stack feature team of mobile, API and quality engineers.
- Collaborate with other leads, solution architects, UI/UX designers and product owners to define roadmaps, technical designs and unblock delivery.
- Hands‑on contributor to the codebase and provide oversight via pull requests.
- Lead mobile architecture and API/micro‑service design with deep knowledge of Android development.
- Provide line‑management and professional development support for engineering team members.
- Develop tactical plans for optimisation of resources and assets in a given area or department.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience leading software engineering projects within large distributed systems.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence and align diverse teams on a shared vision.
- Experience with modern development practices: automated testing, test‑driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, code review and version control.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose.
- Solid understanding of clean architecture, design patterns (MVP, MVVM, MVI) and principles (SOLID, DRY).
- Confidence to express opinions and be pragmatic about modifications.
