WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in our London office.

About the opportunity:

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary central Brand Operating System (Cancara OS) team and responsible for designing and managing styles, components and patterns that make up the design system for all LBG brands. As a visual designer, you will be involved in the following:

Work with a multi-disciplinary team to take components and patterns from concept, through design to documentation and code. Take part in product design reviews from a usability, brand consistency and accessibility perspective. Advocate and provide support for LBG design libraries to the engineering and design communities. Help drive design system adoption across the bank.
  • Team: Proactively seek opportunities to improve design system workflows and service and oversee other designers' proposals. Uncover emerging issues and needs. Identify potential causes, related issues, key stakeholders and barriers. Suggest and implement improvements to existing design and business practices. Coach and mentor designers throughout the organisation. Pursue and invest in opportunities for own personal development.
  • Brand: Help evolve the digital brand across platforms and devices. Champion the customer and ensure LBG products and services meet their needs.

What you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of digital accessibility. Good knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 and aware of any forthcoming changes.
  • Advanced competency with Figma. You must be able to demonstrate component construction using variants, auto-layout and effectively communicate your process.

  • Employ user-centric design methodologies and best practice research.
  • Real-world experience of maintaining and distributing Figma libraries.
  • Experience or working on a dedicated design system team.
