Location: Edinburgh or Newcastle
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: We'll need you to be based in East Scotland or North East England regions for this role as the territory covers these geographical areas. You'll work flexibly, splitting your time between 'on the road' meeting clients face to face and working from home.
Cardnet is Lloyds Banking Group's card payment acceptance service. We help businesses to take payment by credit or debit card in person, online and when the cardholder is not present. Cardnet is a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and Fiserv, one of the world's largest card processors.
About this opportunity: We're looking for an Associate Director who'd be responsible for facing off to the SME coverage team to win new Cardnet business for existing LBG franchise customers as well as new business acquisition from external business development activity. In both scenarios, there will be a sales delivery expectation through promoting the growing range of technology-led solutions provided by Cardnet directly with business customers.
What you'll be doing: In this field-based role, no two weeks are the same. You'll use your self-motivation and determination to effectively schedule your own time to meet your varied commitments. You could be drawing on your expert knowledge to deliver presentations, portfolio reviews and training to key bank colleagues, enabling them to identify and meet their customers' card processing needs. On other days you'll be out in the field, either virtually or physically, conducting meetings with prospective clients you have identified from your extensive network. Your business development skills will allow you to guide these customers from initial discussion through to agreement and implementation. Maintaining a dynamic and active pipeline of new business opportunities is a critical requirement of the role. Using your excellent judgement, you'll put the customer at the centre of all activities. You'll have excellent business development and negotiation abilities along with a real determination to deliver. Using your customer-focused approach, you'll ensure that doing the right thing for customers is at the heart of all your recommendations and decision making.
Why Lloyds Banking Group? Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you can too.
What you'll need:
- An outstanding client/business development background
- Existing merchant acquiring experience, with specialist knowledge of card acquiring, payments and data solutions
- Ability to build and maintain partner relationships at all levels
- An outstanding client development and profit performance record with proven success in negotiating
It would also be useful if you had:
- An up-to-date knowledge of industry-related technical development
- Knowledge of relevant third-party suppliers (e.g. technology) and partners
About working for us: Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture. We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it's why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups. We're disability confident. So, if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
- A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
- An annual performance-related bonus
- Share schemes including free shares
- Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
- 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
