In this pivotal technical SME role within Group Services and Security, you'll provide the backbone of our operations, ensuring robust infrastructure and security for both internal and external customers. You'll lead on expanding and optimising existing technologies, integrating toolsets, and driving efficiency across our platforms. Acting as a key point of expertise, you'll take ownership of project‑related incidents and play a critical role in safeguarding our services while enabling innovation. What you'll do:

  • Act as a contact point for business engagement for this bank‑critical infrastructure.
  • Plan the implementation of complex changes.
  • Deliver changes of all sizes for our customers.
  • Deliver infrastructure and service improvement plans, including gateway upgrades and new builds.
  • Prioritise, handle expectations and guide and influence business decisions.

What you'll need:

  • Accountability for managing firewall change across our estate, ideally a networking/firewall SME with experience of scoping and troubleshooting firewall changes on Check Point & Fortinet.
  • Understanding of networking, firewalls, security principles, and design concepts.
  • Experience developing long‑term goals and acting as a key point of contact for resources in the team for their project activity, including identifying, collating, and understanding detailed information on project scope, feasibility, technical accuracy and compliance.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Not essential to have previously worked in Financial Services, but having knowledge of regulated environments.
  • An understanding of automation tools (Python, Power Automate, Robot Framework, Ansible, Terraform) would be favourable.
