This role is at the heart of the Chief Digital Office (CDO), where you'll shape how the CDO works, helping teams connect, prioritise and deliver at pace. The CDO spans key areas including the mobile app, customer communications, artificial intelligence, growth, data and analytics, now organised into platforms focused on specific customer outcomes. Leading a team of around 50 (with 5-6 direct reports), you'll ensure delivery is fast, joined-up and well controlled – bringing structure, clarity and pace across a complex, fast-moving organisation.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Define and evolve how the CDO operates, turning strategy into practical ways of working, delivery plans and operating model improvements
  • Drive integration and alignment across platforms, portfolios and business management, improving collaboration and execution
  • Lead planning, prioritisation and governance rhythms (including business reviews and objective setting), ensuring focus on the right outcomes
  • Support workforce strategy, including capacity planning, capability development and future skills needs
  • Enable confident decision-making by framing risks, trade-offs and clear recommendations for senior leaders
  • Oversee business management, including investment governance, financial performance, risk and controls
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, embedding agile, continuous improvement and strong delivery focus

What We’re Looking For:

  • Operating Model Transformation & Change Delivery: Leadership experience designing and delivering operating model transformation, translating strategy into scalable ways of working and execution at pace. Experience optimising delivery across platforms or portfolios, linking outcomes to customer impact, cost discipline and control.
  • Strategic approach, Decision Enablement & Workforce Planning: Experience shaping strategy, prioritisation and planning cycles to align investment to outcomes, with strong ability to support senior decision-making on complex trade-offs. Experience leading workforce planning, including forecasting, capability development and building future-ready organisations in partnership with People teams.
  • Business Management, Governance, Risk & Control: Strong experience operating in regulated or complex environments, with accountability for governance, financial performance, risk, controls and suppliers. Ability to enable pace through disciplined governance, using data and insight to drive decisions, manage risk and track delivery.
  • Capability Building, Influence & Leadership: Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams and embedding agile, continuous improvement and strong delivery practices at scale. Strong influencing and communication skills to engage senior leaders and business partners and drive alignment across a large, complex organisation.

And any experience of these would be great:

  • Experience in digital banking, financial services, technology, data or digital transformation environments
  • Experience embedding agile or product-led ways of working across large organisations
  • Experience using emerging technologies, automation or artificial intelligence to improve delivery or decision-making
