Our core technology focus is on Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform. As a Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineer within our Azure Landing Zone Lab, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining secure, automated landing zone capabilities that enable product teams to deliver services at pace. You’ll work collaboratively across platform teams, applying engineering best practices and automation to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
What You’ll Do
- Implement and maintain Policy and Management Group structures under guidance, ensuring compliance and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Backup configurations, following established patterns and contributing to resilience testing.
- Configure monitoring and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to enable proactive issue detection.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and peer support, demonstrating collaborative behaviours and learning from senior engineers.
- Work with other Labs and Platform teams to integrate landing zone components and follow agreed design principles.
- Adopt an SRE mindset by applying automation and observability practices to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
Core Skills Required
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Python, PowerShell) and willingness to learn advanced practices.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD concepts (e.g., Harness, Backstage).
- Foundational knowledge of Azure Landing Zone services (e.g., storage, monitoring).
Preferred Skills
- Good understanding of Azure services including storage, monitoring, backup/recovery, management groups, subscriptions, networking and firewalls.
- Awareness of FinOps principles and ability to apply cost optimisation techniques under guidance.
- Security-conscious engineering approach, including basic identity and access management principles and handling of keys/secrets.
- Familiarity with governance tooling such as Azure Policy and ability to apply predefined policies.
- Experience with platform automation for asset tracking and cost management scenarios.
- Ability to collaborate with compliance and risk teams to implement technical controls based on regulatory requirements.
