What you’ll be doing
Workplace Resolution & Investigations (WRI) is a Centre of Excellence within People & Places at Lloyds Banking Group, supporting colleagues and managers with conduct and Speak Up matters from concern to resolution.
The team ensures concerns are addressed fairly and consistently, through informal resolution or further investigation, providing clear, evidence-based findings to support fair decisions by hearing managers.
The role helps the Group improve how we work, maintains high standards of conduct and integrity, and ensures senior managers fulfil their regulatory responsibilities.
This is an exciting time to join WRI as we transform conduct management toward earlier, more informal resolution where appropriate, strengthen governance and consistency, and build a data-driven, insight-led function with new frameworks and tools to shape the future of workplace resolution and investigations.
Key Responsibilities
- A blended role that combines direct case delivery with people leadership, case allocation, oversight and coaching.
Ensure the team delivers clear, timely, evidence-based findings enabling fair, defensible decisions by hearing managers, escalating complexity or risk where appropriate.
- Personally lead selected end-to-end internal investigations into colleague conduct, grievances or related workplace concerns, applying sound judgement and subject-matter expertise while maintaining a reduced personal caseload for line management and team delivery responsibilities.
- Provide day-to-day line management to Grade D investigators, setting clear expectations on quality, pace, independence, procedural fairness, colleague experience and adherence to investigation standards.
- Lead case allocation, prioritisation and progress management of the team’s investigation caseload, planning work, surfacing risks early and actively managing deadlines.
Balance capacity, skills, case complexity and colleague wellbeing.
- Provide proportionate case oversight, technical guidance and constructive challenge on investigation planning, evidence gathering, analysis and report writing.
Support investigators to apply sound judgement in complex or ambiguous conduct matters.
- Assure the quality and consistency of investigation outputs, including case records and reports, aligning with internal standards, Group policy, employment law, regulatory expectations and industry practice, including ACAS Code and Equality Act considerations.
- Act as a trusted partner to case managers, hearing managers and stakeholders, communicating progress, risks and standards while maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Identify opportunities to improve WRI investigation practice and support a learning culture through coaching and knowledge sharing.
