Are you ready to play a hands‑on role in strengthening how a critical business unit prepares for, responds to, and recovers from disruption? If so, the Business Continuity & Response Manager role within GCOO Resilience Enablement offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on customer, colleague, and operational outcomes.
Sitting within GCOO Business Resilience Office (BRO), this role supports the delivery of the GCOO operational resilience framework, with a primary focus on business continuity and incident response capability. You will work closely with business areas, resilience specialists, and Group Incident Management to ensure resilience activities are embedded, maintained, and effective.
This is a delivery‑focused role operating in a fast‑paced, regulated environment, requiring strong organisation, collaboration, and calm execution — particularly during incidents.
- Deliver and maintain Business Continuity and incident response capability across GCOO, ensuring plans, people and processes are ready for disruption.
- Maintain high‑quality Business Continuity Plans, Business Impact Assessments and Important Business Services activity, working closely with business stakeholders.
- Support incident response at Bronze level (including rota participation) and coordinate response activity across Silver and Gold incidents when required.
- Plan and deliver resilience testing and exercises, capturing outcomes and learning to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide clear governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement to build resilience awareness and ownership across GCOO.
- Contribute to improving tools, templates and ways of working, collaborating across the BRO and wider Group resilience community.

- Strong background working in business continuity and/or operational resilience within a regulated or complex organisation.
- Proven experience supporting or leading live incidents, across planning, response and recovery.
- Experience with resilience testing, exercising and capturing post‑incident learning.
- Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Clear and confident communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Calm, pragmatic judgement under pressure, with an outcome‑focused mindset.
