You’ll work at pace across a wide range of tasks, helping to deliver excellent client outcomes while developing strong analytical, commercial and relationship skills. As an Associate, you’ll contribute directly to real businesses that are investing, growing, and navigating change — and you’ll help the Bank manage risk and build long‑term client partnerships. It’s a role with real purpose, offering the chance to learn quickly, make a meaningful impact and grow your career in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB).
About the Team
Our Healthcare, Technology, Media & Telecoms (TMT), and Leisure team is a long‑established and successful part of Corporate Coverage. We support large UK and international clients (revenues above £100m), helping them to grow, invest and navigate a constantly evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of a designated portfolio of large corporate clients across Healthcare, TMT, and Leisure sectors.
- Contribute to the origination and execution of new business opportunities, including pitch preparation and transaction support.
- Prepare high‑quality briefing materials, financial analysis, and client insights to support external meetings and pitches alongside internal decision‑making.
- Work closely with product partners and risk teams to deliver products that meet client needs and align with Group credit and profitability requirements.
- Apply strong analytical skills to monitor client performance, assess risks, and support credit submissions.
- Use sound judgement in ambiguous situations and progress tasks independently while seeking guidance where appropriate.
- Build strong internal networks and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organisation.
- Adopt new tools and ways of working that improve efficiency and enhance the client and colleague experience.
- Take ownership of your personal development, building both technical capability and sector expertise.
What We’re Looking For
- An energetic, motivated individual who’s committed to delivering excellent client service.
- Strong people skills and confidence in client‑facing situations.
- A collaborative teammate who enjoys working effectively with colleagues from across the Group.
- Experience of working in corporate or institutional banking at a major recognised organisation.
- Demonstrable record of delighting corporate or institutional clients and developing the business.
- Sharp analytical skills with the ability to interpret information, analyse and evaluate, and write clear concise logical proposals – both for internal teams and clients.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and able to balance multiple priorities.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to get involved in a wide range of tasks.
- Keen to grow and develop their skills alongside their colleagues.
What You’ll Get in Return
- A great opportunity to meet the client, understand corporate banking, contribute to the team, and grow your career within a supportive, high‑performing sector team.
- Exposure to clients, and a range of transactions spanning debt, lending, risk and cash management and group partner products.
- Development pathways that will help you build long‑term capability in CIB.
