Salary Range: £78,098 - £109,060 (dependant on location)

Location: London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds

Hours: Full Time

Working Pattern: Our working style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this Opportunity

If you’re a leader in sustainability reporting, governance and controls, this role gives you the platform to shape how Lloyds Banking Group delivers against a rapidly evolving landscape. You’ll set the direction for interpreting and operationalising new reporting standards, ensuring our disclosures are accurate, trusted and aligned with best practice. Working with senior partners across Finance, Risk and Audit, you’ll strengthen our governance, elevate data quality and ensure we are assurance ready. This is a high impact role at the heart of Group Sustainable Business, enabling the organisation to deliver sustainable, inclusive growth as part of its Helping Britain Prosper ambition.

Responsibilities

  • Providing input into key sustainability initiatives working collaboratively across various business units to ensure our delivery is in alignment with the Group's sustainability strategy.
  • Crafting the narrative and positioning of our sustainability performance in our external reporting alongside key collaborators.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and delivery of a sustainability materiality process aligned with international standards.
  • Demonstrating your sustainability expertise, experience and insights through input into internal processes, frameworks, policies, and process efficiencies.
  • Providing oversight of our executive level sustainability committee, ensuring effective and organized committee processes and papers.
  • Supporting the Group to continue to embed its principles of doing business in a responsible, balanced, and inclusive way.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a driven individual with experience in sustainability reporting, frameworks, and controls who would like to take their career to the next stage. Is this you? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a management role within sustainability consulting/advisory, sustainability assurance, or sustainability risk management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing frameworks and controls related to the management of sustainability programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of external sustainability standards and frameworks across reporting and ESG risk management (such as ISSB, CSRD, CSDDD, SASB, The Equator Principles, Principles for Responsible Banking, UNGPs) and emerging sustainability requirements for the UK.
  • An understanding and experience of sustainability issues and how they impact on business operations, ideally with financial sector experience.
  • Outstanding and demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to upholding high presentation standards.
  • A curious mindset and experience of responsibly employing AI to drive efficiency and enhance productivity.

Desirables

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in working with leading external bodies such as UNGC, IFRS, WEF, EU EFRAG, and UNEP-FI. An established relationship with key bodies is considered a plus.
