JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Join a multi-skilled rapid application development team embedded in the business, enhancing capability through collaborative solution delivery. Take your place in the Traded Risk Rapid Application Development team where you'll work with multi-skilled software engineers, risk, change and operational SME’s. As an Application Developer, apply your significant experience in software development skills and broader technical expertise to deliver and support technical solutions and build business functionality, so we can enable evolving analytical, regulatory and operational deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deliver, and support internally developed and connected applications and robust technical solutions in collaboration with technical and business users, recommending options where appropriate.
  • Conduct research into new solutions and prototype new ideas.
  • Analyse problems, provide expert diagnosis, maximise your individual skills and collaboration.
  • Develop product specifications and accompanying testing.
  • Support change planning with project colleagues and ensure controlled change delivery.
  • Develop capabilities of the team, providing specialised training in your area of expertise.

What you’ll need:

Technical skills: Over 5 years of experience developing applications, automation and technical solutions in Python, plus a broad developer experience across a range of technologies, including SQL Server. Working experience with DevOps and change tools accompanied by experience with software development lifecycle and agile delivery methods. Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset, able to demonstrate effectiveness in learning and applying new skills, and application of AI to solution development. Experience delivering applications and technical solutions covering content in market and/or counterparty risk.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Delivering complex information simply and concisely, such as to a non-technical audience.
  • AI assisted development and deployment (e.g. vibe coding) to build applications via AI using natural language.

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
