About this opportunity:

We’re looking for an Assistant Technology Cost and Commercial Manager to join our Private Cloud Finance and Optimisation Team. It’s a great opportunity to build your experience across finance, technology and commercial management, while helping us understand and manage the costs of one of the Group’s largest technology platforms.

You’ll work with colleagues across Technology, Finance, Sourcing and Commercial, as well as our suppliers. Together, you’ll help make sure technology costs are understood, forecast accurately and managed effectively.

You’ll support month-end activities and make sure costs are recorded accurately, build forecasts and cost models to help identify changes, risks and opportunities, and manage supplier financial activity including purchase orders, goods receipts, invoices and payments. You’ll also review contracts and pricing, translate technology demand and sourcing plans into financial forecasts, and provide financial insight to support business cases, contract reviews, renewals and investment decisions.

You don’t need to be a technology expert. This is an opportunity to bring your financial and cost management experience to a technology environment and continue building your commercial and technology knowledge.

Why join us:

We’re on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we’re shaping finance for good. We’re focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What you'll need:

  • Relationship Management: Experience building effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, including working across different business areas and with suppliers.
  • Risk Management: Experience identifying financial or commercial risks and opportunities, investigating issues and supporting appropriate actions.
  • Financial & Budget Management: Practical experience managing costs or financial information, including budgeting, forecasting, analysing spend and explaining variances.
  • Data Literacy: Experience using financial data and Excel to produce accurate analysis and turn information into useful insight for decision-making.
  • Business & Commercial Insight: Experience using financial or commercial information to understand business impacts and inform practical decisions, including costs, contracts or supplier activity.

And any experience of this would be really useful:

  • IT Platforms & Hosting: An interest in, or experience of, technology platforms, infrastructure services or cloud technologies.
  • Financial Control: Knowledge of accounting concepts or financial processes such as accruals, prepayments, capital and operating expenditure, lease accounting or financial journals.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Experience supporting business cases, forecasts, financial analysis or investment decisions.
