Role Overview: We are recruiting a Public Cloud Assistant Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, build and operation of cloud-based infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. You will work within agile engineering teams, contributing to secure, scalable platforms that support services used across Lloyds Banking Group. This role is suited to early-career cloud, DevOps or infrastructure engineers who want to deepen their experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on GCP and Azure
  • Assist in operating Kubernetes-based platforms
  • Build, maintain and support CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployment
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
  • Support implementation of security controls, access management and policy standards
  • Monitor platform health and assist with incident resolution and troubleshooting
  • Take part in agile ceremonies, continuous improvement activities and platform enhancements
  • Participate in an on-call support rota with appropriate training and support

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 1-4 years' experience in a DevOps, SRE, cloud or infrastructure engineering role
  • Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies
  • Experience using CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar)
