Job Summary

Senior Manager – Platform & Software Payments Business Development (Europe).

The role focuses on commercialising Lloyds Banking Group’s payments technology beyond the UK by building senior-level partnerships with European banks and selected financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritise and pursue bespoke partnership opportunities with European banks, regulated financial institutions, selected PSPs or market‑infrastructure participants, and other interested parties.
  • Lead end‑to‑end business development from initial senior engagement through to deal structuring, working closely with internal product, technology, legal, risk and commercial teams.
  • Act as the commercial front door for payments technology the Group owns, has built or has acquired, including Curve, the Payments Engine, Curve Wallet, and orchestration platforms.
  • Translate complex platform capabilities into clear, differentiated value propositions focused on outcomes such as speed to market, engagement and capability enhancements, and bespoke propositions that are not off‑the‑shelf sales.
  • Shape propositions on a deal‑by‑deal basis, ensuring commercial structures, regulatory and operating‑model considerations are properly considered and aligned with LBG’s risk appetite.
  • Lead trust‑based conversations with C‑suite and senior decision‑makers, building strategic partnerships rather than transactional vendor relationships.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience selling or commercialising complex banking or payments platforms. \l
  • Credibility in senior, trust‑based conversations with European banks or other financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of payments technology, operating models and regulatory context.
  • Experience in payments, transaction banking, platform businesses, a bank, fintech, PSP or payments infrastructure provider, or in a role combining commercial ownership with technical and operational fluency.
