The predicted salary is between 67000 - 74000 £ per year.

Locations: London, Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, or Edinburgh

Salary Range: £81,999 - £91,110

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our locations noted above.

About this Opportunity: We are modernising with cloud, a platform that is quick, secure and resilient for customers and easy, modern and green for developers. Our core technology focus is on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. Your role as an Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and securing infrastructure resources that host colleague and customer facing services on our Public Cloud Infrastructure. The Technologies may include compute, containers, data, operating systems, security and networking, predominately spanning virtual, and cloud computing such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. You will work collaboratively with the Engineering & Product Owner Leads, in building and executing our road maps, whilst participating in the planning and delivery of our goals, driving prioritisation, escalating impediments, acting on learnings and demonstrating successes.

What you’ll need: Currently recruiting Infrastructure Engineers for our platform. We would expect as a minimum for you to have a good understanding of:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • FinOps
  • DevOps / Continuous Deployment (CICD)

Additionally, seeking individuals with expertise in one or more of these areas:

  • Compute: Experience in designing, delivering and supporting Native IaaS, HPC PaaS, Migration Tooling and capabilities across Azure and Google Platform. Driving implementation quality, participating in design decisions, automating repeatable tasks, and embedding telemetry to ensure observability and continuous improvement. Familiarity in maintaining tooling for continuous integration and CICD, IaaC, configuration management with Ansible, deployment automation with Harness, and infrastructure provisioning with Terraform. Experience in OS scripting to automate operational tasks.
  • Containers: Experience in deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters using IaC. Familiarity with deploying Kubernetes add-ons through IaC, such as service meshes, role-based access control (RBAC) managers, and certificate managers. Ability to deliver Kubernetes features like event-driven autoscaling and network overlays.
  • Data & Artificial Intelligence (AI): Experience with configuring and deploying a broad range of storage, analytics and AI capabilities on either Google Platform or Azure. Understanding of data architecture including data ingestion, persistence, streaming and consumption patterns. Exposure to Machine Learning, Data Science and AI use cases and tooling.
  • Integration: Experience in managing and curating cloud-native integration products such as API gateways (Apigee & APIM), Pub/Sub, and logic bus. Familiarity with deploying integration add-ons through IaC, including security policies, external and internal gateway management, and platform guardrails. Exposure to integration features like automated data reconciliation, event-driven processing, and scalable integration patterns.
  • Security & Networking: Knowledge of Cloud network and perimeter security as well as familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards. Familiarity with Google Cloud networking, including Interconnect, DNS, VPN, routing, load balancing, and related technologies. Familiarity with Azure networking, including Express-Route, virtual circuits, BGP, gateways, virtual networks, and VPNs.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Proficiency in automating cloud infrastructure and processes. Experience with monitoring tools and techniques to ensure system reliability and performance.
