Transport Credit Risk Analyst – Residual Value Risk
Location: Newport / Birmingham / Chester / Halifax or Leeds
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Work pattern: Hybrid – at least two days (or 40%) at an office site
Overview
We are seeking an analyst to support our Transport Credit team, which manages over £6bn of lending and £10bn of residual‑value exposure. The role involves analysing data to inform safe lending decisions, optimise residual‑value strategies, and support the Group’s net‑zero goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large data sets related to vehicle types, terms, and mileages to support residual‑value setting and oversight.
- Provide risk policy management, reviewing and challenging monthly uploads, highlighting issues, and presenting changes to stakeholders.
- Update the portfolio regularly, tracking changes and providing insights that influence decision‑making.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including electric vehicle strategy and the 2030 carbon‑emission targets.
- Collaborate with technical and non‑technical partners, presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to data‑driven improvements, helping to build a data and analytics infrastructure for risk management.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong numeracy skills and a qualification of at least A‑Level, degree or equivalent.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for data manipulation and presentation.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work swiftly and efficiently in data review and system testing.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to varying audiences.
- Enthusiasm for problem solving, curiosity, and logical thinking to investigate unstructured data.
- Organisation and time‑management skills, with a proven ability to work independently within a team.
- Experience in credit risk and change management is highly desirable.
- Experience with analytical software and coding (SAS, SQL, PowerBI) is advantageous.
