JOB TITLE: Manager – ECP Analytics & Transaction Monitoring

SALARY: £65,385 – £72,650

LOCATION: Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds or Manchester

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Two days per week (or 40% of your time) at one of our office sites

We’re looking for a curious and innovative professional to help shape the future of Transaction Monitoring within our Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) and Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) divisions.

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the evolution of our monitoring rules and detection methodologies, applying innovative analytical techniques to enhance risk management. You’ll collaborate with a diverse range of partners, influencing strategic decisions and driving alignment around data-led solutions that strengthen our financial crime defences.

Your accountabilities will include

  • Applying data analytical techniques to assess control design adequacy, tune existing rule sets and develop new rules

  • Using data skills to deliver value and actionable insights to improve business effectiveness and efficiency

  • Maintaining high-quality documentation to evidence compliance for oversight and audit purposes

  • Working closely with key colleagues such as Systems teams, Platform, Operations and Intelligence

  • Supporting wider Economic Crime Prevention by developing analytical outputs that improve data-led decisioning

What you’ll need

  • Experience in financial crime analytics or transaction monitoring, within banking or financial services, with a strong understanding of AML controls and data-led risk detection

  • Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to work with large datasets to identify patterns, anomalies and emerging risks. Familiarity with tools like PowerBI, SQL, Python or Google Cloud Platform

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and influence decision-making across technical and non-technical teams

  • Proactivity to interpret performance and clearly communicate key stories and messages to the business

  • A curiosity to learn about the data techniques, performance and our processes to deliver insight, control and courage to challenge
