Working Pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week in office; may require more.

What you'll be doing

This role covers the full archive lifecycle, working across collections management, digitisation, digital preservation, and researcher services.

Day to day responsibilities include

  • Appraise, accession and catalogue archive collections using our archives management systems.
  • Ingest digital records into our digital preservation repository and support digitisation projects.
  • Respond to historical enquiries and support visiting researchers.
  • Undertake collections care and facilities management activities, including environmental monitoring and preservation tasks.
  • Work with colleagues across the business and contribute to archive and museum projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management (or equivalent).
  • Experience appraising, cataloguing and documenting archive collections (including digital).
  • Experience responding to research enquiries and supporting researchers.
  • Knowledge of archival standards, professional practice and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working with archive management systems.
  • Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.
  • Experience using Axiell Calm and/or Axiell Collections (desired).
  • Experience using Preservica (desired).
  • Experience supporting digitisation projects and quality assurance activities (desired).
  • Experience of collections care, environmental monitoring or archive store management (desired).
