What you'll be doing
This role covers the full archive lifecycle, working across collections management, digitisation, digital preservation, and researcher services.
Day to day responsibilities include
- Appraise, accession and catalogue archive collections using our archives management systems.
- Ingest digital records into our digital preservation repository and support digitisation projects.
- Respond to historical enquiries and support visiting researchers.
- Undertake collections care and facilities management activities, including environmental monitoring and preservation tasks.
- Work with colleagues across the business and contribute to archive and museum projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management (or equivalent).
- Experience appraising, cataloguing and documenting archive collections (including digital).
- Experience responding to research enquiries and supporting researchers.
- Knowledge of archival standards, professional practice and relevant legislation.
- Experience working with archive management systems.
- Strong communication, organisational and customer service skills.
- Experience using Axiell Calm and/or Axiell Collections (desired).
- Experience using Preservica (desired).
- Experience supporting digitisation projects and quality assurance activities (desired).
- Experience of collections care, environmental monitoring or archive store management (desired).
