The role is within our Analytics Lab, enabling analytical excellence in the Risk Division by delivering data as products onto the Google Cloud Platform to support our Risk Strategy and Regulatory change agenda. You will work on large‑scale Regulatory Programmes and fast‑paced problem resolution alongside Analysts, Engineers and Integrators, following Agile Project Methodology. You will have the opportunity to help overcome longstanding data quality issues and challenges, with some focus on supporting Climate data.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis: reviewing or completing technical analysis to inform the direction of major projects, utilising data analysis and visualisation.
  • Data Modelling and Documentation: produce data models, extract, document and validate data requirements and proposed data sources and solutions with customers, including defining acceptance criteria.
  • Testing: support Feature Team with testing preparation and acceptance testing to ensure the solution meets the identified business need.
  • Stakeholder Communication: support customer needs and work with partners to keep project delivery on track.
  • Data Product Governance: ensure proposed solutions align with Group policies and regulatory and statutory requirements, and develop expertise in Data Product Governance.
  • Learn to use the tools of Google Cloud Platform – BigQuery Studio, Dataplex, Looker.

Qualifications:

  • Great communicator, dynamic and adaptable with a flexible approach, open to learning new skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Facilitator, negotiator and decision‑maker, collaborating across all teams within the Lab.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology.
  • Understanding of data schemas and foundational data engineering principles (e.g. data pipelines, schemas, ETL).
  • Understanding of business analysis methodologies for data products.
  • Experience with analytics tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms for data engineering and analytics is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a regulatory risk change environment is an advantage.
  • Experience in financial services or consultancy environments is preferred.
