Software Engineer will lead technical development and delivery at Team and sometimes Lab level. They can be a Line Manager who will act as co-lead with the Team PO for overall delivery. In these cases, they will be responsible for overall tech delivery, line management & app ownership alongside their own software engineering output. Others will operate as Individual Contributors, who are specialists in particular technology areas and will be narrower and deeper in focus.

What you’ll do...

  • As Tech Lead, you’ll set the technical direction for a front‐end‐leaning squad, championing LBG standards (TypeScript/React on supported Node LTS) to deliver performant, accessible experiences.
  • You’ll break down complex problems, mentor engineers, uphold high quality with automated testing (Jest/Playwright/MSW) and robust CI/CD (e.g., Harness), and collaborate closely with Product, QE, DevOps and back‐end colleagues.
  • You’ll embed resilience, security and operability from the start, own production health when needed, and continuously improve our engineering practices and documentation to help the team ship value safely and often.

What you’ll need.....

  • Strong knowledge and working experience of Engineering tools including, React, Angular, TypeScript and Node.
  • Back-End experience with Java, SpringBoot will help you stand out in this role.
  • Oracle and PL/SQL Database know-how.
  • Testing Frameworks – JEST, PlayWright would be highly sought after for this team and this role.
  • Comfortable with working around Automation and bringing that experience to this role.
  • Confident leading technical teams, mentoring others in the team and making key technical decisions.

It would be great if you also had experience in...

  • Any experience with GCP would be a benefit for this role.
  • Exposure to Container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Full-Stack experience would be a bonus.
