We’re a team that plays a meaningful role in cost leadership for Lloyds Banking Group, striving to provide valuable insights, drive cost‑saving initiatives, and ensure effective use of the Group’s resources including our colleague reward package. We’re a team of 12 based across Edinburgh, Bristol and London, part of the Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team within Central Finance. The work you do and ideas you develop will inform conversations up to Group Executive Committee level. This is a terrific opportunity if you’re bold and ambitious, possess a strong sense of purpose, diplomatic skills to influence senior people, and relationship skills to build rapport and have meaningful conversations. If you enjoy leading analysis and insight to optimise costs, build operating models and contribute to wider long‑term planning and business decision making, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop a deep understanding of costs, based on data and analysis and other tools such as benchmarking and best‑practice case studies.
- Use insights, trends and data to identify cost opportunities and the structural changes needed longer term for LBG to continue to be a cost leader in Financial Services.
- Proactively build relationships and engage widely with colleagues to develop a narrative about ideas, build evidence and advocacy, and effect change with a cost‑out/optimisation benefit.
- Review and challenge 4YOP submissions and cases with a strategic cost‑optimisation mentality.
- Identify and drive cost‑saving or unit cost efficiency initiatives, working with stakeholders across the Group.
- Review and challenge material contracts en route to the Group Cost Management Committee (GCMC).
- Support the running of GCMC meetings and produce high‑quality papers to enable effective decision making.
