About this opportunity: This is a rare opportunity to shape how leadership is defined, experienced and measured across Lloyds Banking Group. As we deliver Accelerate 2030, strong leadership will be central to sustaining performance, simplifying how we work and turning strategic ambition into better outcomes for customers and colleagues. Reporting to the Culture, Leadership & Talent Director, you’ll own the Group-wide leadership agenda. You’ll turn our leadership philosophy from a framework into the everyday operating standard for leaders, creating clear expectations, practical habits and a connected system that reinforces them through performance, talent, succession, recruitment and development. This is a strategic role with a strong delivery edge. You’ll get close to the commercial agenda, navigate a complex matrix and create momentum through others, building a leadership proposition that is practical, measurable and capable of being delivered at scale.
What you’ll be doing:
- Set the enterprise leadership strategy, translating Accelerate 2030 into clear priorities, standards and outcomes grounded in customer needs, performance and simplification.
- Own and embed leadership principles, defining the practical habits and non-negotiable standards expected of leaders and integrating them into the moments that shape leadership behaviour.
- Create one connected leadership proposition, removing duplication and linking development with culture, talent, performance, reward, coaching and team effectiveness.
- Build leadership capability at scale, strengthening accountability, change leadership, strategic thinking, inclusion, customer focus, digital and AI leadership, and high performance.
- Turn strategy into disciplined delivery through clear programmes, governance, measures and accountabilities, enabling delivery through others across a complex organisation.
- Demonstrate measurable impact by tracking behaviour change and credible links to team performance, colleague experience, talent, customer and delivery outcomes.
- Shape future leadership talent by strengthening succession and accelerating the leadership populations and capabilities the Group will need next.
Why join us? You’ll have enterprise-wide visibility, senior sponsorship and the opportunity to influence how leadership works across one of the UK’s largest organisations. You’ll combine the best external thinking with the scale, reach and purpose of Lloyds Banking Group, creating an approach that improves outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.
What we’re looking for:
Essential requirements:
- A substantial track record of setting and delivering leadership strategy or enterprise-wide leadership transformation in a large, complex organisation.
- Deep expertise in leadership development, behaviour change and the organisational systems that shape leader performance.
- Commercial judgement and executive-level credibility, with the ability to connect leadership choices to business outcomes and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- A strong record of turning strategy into action through disciplined programme delivery, clear governance, measures and accountability.
- The ability to lead through a matrix, join the dots across organisational boundaries, mobilise limited resources and deliver through others.
Desirable skills/experience:
- Experience gained in management consultancy, leadership advisory or major organisational transformation.
- International experience or work across complex stakeholder environments.
- Experience using technology, data or AI to personalise leadership support, extend reach or measure impact.
