Job Title: Trading & Performance Manager – Loans
Salary Range: £61,344 – £68,160 per annum
Location: Chester, Halifax, Leeds or Manchester
Hours: 35 hours full-time
Working pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week (40% of time) at an office site.
Responsibilities
- Spot what’s next – identify new growth opportunities across customers, markets and channels, turning insight into clear, actionable strategies
- Bring ideas to life – shape new propositions, partnerships and digital journeys, build compelling business cases and secure backing
- Make decisions better – use data, modelling and experimentation to guide pricing, demand and performance, challenge assumptions and continuously improve outcomes
- Work with brilliant people – partner across Product, Pricing, Risk, Finance and Digital, build strong, trusted relationships and bring others along
- See your impact – lead performance, adapt quickly and drive better outcomes for customers and the business
Qualifications and Experience
- Highly numerical, data‑driven individual responsible for maximising commercial performance, with a clear understanding of financial metrics and performance drivers
- Ability to think long‑term and identify commercial opportunities that align with customer needs and business goals
- Unafraid to challenge the status quo, intellectually curious, and eager to innovate and adapt quickly from setbacks
- Passionate about solving problems and finding new ways to deliver value
- Proficiency in data analysis, customer analytics, building and validating forecasts, pricing and segmentation models and visualisation tools (e.g. Python, SQL, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, Agentic AI, Machine Learning)
- Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g. GCP native tools), providing actionable insight and analytics for the business
- Strong narrative and storytelling skills – translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for operational and strategic goals
- Experience presenting and influencing at all organisational levels, including the Group Executive Committee (GEC)
- Strong understanding of the external environment: customer trends, competitor strategies, regulatory developments
