About this Opportunity: This is an opportunity to bring your experience and expertise in nature to Lloyds Banking Group where you’ll play a key role in delivering our sustainability ambitions! The Manager will provide support for all nature-related activities with a day-to-day focus on our work on environmental markets in our centre of excellence. You’ll be part of the Group Sustainable Business team which sits at the centre of Lloyds Banking Group and plays an important role in enabling Lloyds Banking Group’s purpose ambitions and activities which are critical to the delivery of the Group’s strategy and helping Britain Prosper. These include defining the ambitions and enablement actions across key areas such as affordable homes, financial empowerment, regional development, transition to net zero and protecting nature.
As Manager, you’ll be:
- Supporting the design and implementation of internal approaches for engaging with environmental markets, ensuring alignment with Group strategy and sustainability ambitions.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen environmental market integrity and credibility, including nature-based solutions and biodiversity-related propositions.
- Providing technical advice on frameworks and standards relevant to environmental markets.
- Translating complex market and regulatory developments into actionable insights for the Group’s lending and investment activities.
- Contributing to capability building on environmental markets across the Group by sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues across all levels.
- Contributing to a high-performing team, encouraging and embedding new, agile and innovative practices to improve process effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy and pace.
- Translating emerging and existing external nature requirements and determining the impact on the Group’s business models and business areas.
What you’ll need:
- Strong understanding of environmental markets, including both nature and tech-based solutions, carbon and biodiversity credits, and emerging market standards.
- Experience in financial services or sustainable finance, particularly in the challenges and opportunities within structuring or assessing financing structures for environmental outcomes.
- Familiarity with nature-related frameworks (e.g., TNFD) and UK policy (e.g., Biodiversity Net Gain).
- Familiarity with the use of locations based insights and analysis to support nature market project delivery and financing.
- Ability to analyse complex data and market trends, translating insights into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence across diverse teams.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to apply logic and creativity to deliver effective solutions.
